Cappagh Hospital Foundation is a registered charity raising funds for Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital, Irelands’ major centre for elective orthopaedic surgery. The funds raised support the hospital to continue to provide the highest quality patient care, improve patient mobility and advance the science of orthopaedic surgery through research, education and development.

Cappagh Hospital Foundation has donated over €11 million to the Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital, most notably in the following ways:

  • Sponsorship of 85 fellowships in orthopaedics
  • Supporting nurses in their advanced education
  • Funded over 40 orthopaedic research projects
  • Funded the Hip and Knee National Register
  • Funded over 21 lectures

As well as implementing the following improvements and additions to the hospital:

2016: Purchase of spinal surgery navigation software

2016: Part Funded new 12 bed recovery unit

2016: Developed information pack for Active Rehabilitation Unit patients

2008-2009: Building of new ‘state-of-the-art’ Isolation Unit

2001: Purchase of MRI Scanner
2000: Upgrading and modernisation of X-Ray Department & Orthotic Unit
